The Department of Civil Engineering at MVSR Engineering College is one of the founding departments of the institution, established in 1981. Civil Engineering, being a core discipline, plays a vital role in nation building by addressing the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems such as buildings, transportation networks, water resources, irrigation, and environmental facilities.
The department currently offers
- B.E. in Civil Engineering with an annual intake of 60 students
- M.E. in Structural Engineering with an intake of 18 students (started in 2020)

Civil Engineering graduates from MVSR have demonstrated strong placement performance, often surpassing placement records of several peer institutions.
The department is actively involved in research and consultancy, with major focus areas in Structural Engineering. It regularly undertakes consultancy projects from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and private organizations.

Accreditation Status
The B.E. (Civil Engineering) program has been accredited multiple times by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in: 2002, 2007, 2013, 2018, and 2022
The program is provisionally accredited for three years with effect from 15th June 2022.
